This was the only place I went to two nights in a row for drinks, aesthetics, service and the total speakeasy vibe. The subtleties of the small details make it an amazing experience. I love the wall lights and how they look like eyes following you, the staff's attire which stay true to time period, to the dark and intimate ambiance making it perfect to spill your own secrets. The true test of the mixologist is to have them make a cocktail for you based on your preference and what they have on hand. So the first night we had Kevin, our mixer, create a gin forward drink to cool us down from the heat outside. It was the perfect Perfect PERFECT drink. Ask for it next time you're there, the A-List created by Kevin!

This spot is really fun! Staff is really nice. Drinks are truly incredible. There are small details that make this place fun - like an ice stamp! Note: Didn’t try any of the food here

Very upscale and sophisticated speakeasy. This is at the back of Shangri-La Fort. There is no signage so be prepared to look for it. Though this is the only large glass door with security at the back of the hotel. Atmosphere is great with lots of nooks, crannies, and small separate rooms. Dress well and be careful for the servers look like customers and were also well dressed. Lights were a little too bright for a speakeasy but drinks were awesome. Be prepared to spend. They also have a very wide selection of gin.

For those seeking an upscale and sophisticated bar experience in Manila, The Back Room is an absolute must-visit. While it's technically classified as a speakeasy, fear not, for it's not overly secretive or difficult to locate. Simply head to Shangri-La The Fort and you'll find this hidden gem tucked away, devoid of any exterior signage. The ambiance within The Back Room is nothing short of captivating. The décor is a delightful blend of modern and classic elements, with carefully curated lighting fixtures that look like eyes! The overall atmosphere exudes an air of refined elegance, making it the perfect setting for both intimate conversations and lively gatherings. The true stars of The Back Room, however, are the cocktails. Masterfully crafted, each concoction is a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and bursting with character. Whether you prefer classic cocktails or are seeking something more adventurous, The Back Room's menu has something to tantalize every taste bud especially the Gin lovers. The staff at The Back Room is equally impressive, exuding an air of professionalism and charm that complements the bar's sophisticated ambiance. They are poised yet friendly, and walk around looking as glamorous as the guests. Drinks were unique and delicious. We loved the little prompts attached to the cocktails. The peanuts and fries were really good too, but not a fan of the chicken meatballs. Nice, easy spot to catch up with friends over drinks. We got there early so no problem with seating (walk ins only, no reservations), but it gets busier the later it is. There was already a line outside when we left around 11pm.

The journey begins with an entrance that feels straight out of a spy Movie. A nondescript door, No flashy signs, no neon lights, just a discreet charm that beckons the curious. As you step inside, the urban cacophony melts away, replaced by a hushed ambiance that whispers sophistication. The dimly lit interior, adorned with vintage curiosities, exudes an air of mystery that's both alluring and comforting. The cocktails! They're not just drinks; they're crafted masterpieces. The mixologists here are akin to alchemists, blending exotic flavors and top-shelf spirits to create elixirs that dance on your palate. Timeless experience that leaves an indelible mark on your soul. If you crave more than the ordinary and cherish life's best-kept secrets, this clandestine oasis is your destination. Experience was perfect except the lwaiting outside and the very loud human beings on the next table who didn't read the house rules 🙄 Cocktails price starts at 450 pesos and Chairs were comfy. Highly recommended!

Culture in a glass of a cocktail drink amidst the modern surreal city of Metro Manila. Step into a time tunnel of avantgarde , glorious to be rich Asian mode, after a day’s work or simply be a tourist in your own country.

Love this place. But be prepared to wait for a table (unless you come b4 8pm). They have lots of drinks and food was great. Music was good and not overwhelming till you can't hear each other. Ambience was nice and definitely a great place to hang out and chill. Highly recommend their house Gin, Bee's knees. If you get a bottle of gin, they will give 3 cans of soda (as mixer) complimentary.
